This audio project was completed for an entry level course in digital media, so the catharsis experienced during the process was a welcome surprise. The closer I come to graduation, to entering what we as a collective have dubbed "the real world", the more my fear of complacency grows. This project was a manifestation of this fear: that one day I'll wake up and be caught in the same routine day after day, and even if something breaks that routine, monotony won't be far behind. It's my firm belief that any text or media worth a damn is far bigger than itself; that it has some universal message. This fear of waking up one day to realize the years of money and manpower poured into a single path have been unsatisfying is nearly inescapable. For me, especially as a college student, I find myself asking: "What's the point?" More times than I'm comfortable with in the course of a week. But the truth is there's no way to know where you're going until you get there, so I suppose any pursuit is a gamble, and we're all just figuring it out as we go.
