This is a pilot episode for a narrative audio series called Torchsong which explores the mysterious circumstances surrounding a 1977 fire at the Everard Baths, a gay bathhouse in New York City. In addition to telling the stories of the nine victims whose lives were taken by the fire, it also follows the story of the gay journalist and novelist George Whitmore who tried and failed to uncover the truth behind the fire before dying of AIDS in 1989.
